J & K Verse

February 26, 2012 Katrina RyderLetter Verses

It’s time for the next two Letter Verses! We are up to J & K now.  Letter Verses is a way to memorize Scripture one letter of the alphabet at a time, using catchy songs (and sometimes motions.)  Once we memorize the verse, we give $1 to One Verse for a Bible translation project for…Continue reading J & K Verse

This is probably wrong, but

February 22, 2012 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

When I used to teach high school English, there was one phrase students uttered that bugged me more than any other.  I’d ask a question, hands would go up, and then I’d call on a smart, articulate female student who would begin her answer with the dreaded . . . This is probably wrong, but…Continue reading This is probably wrong, but

Poorganic Grocery Budget- One Actual Month

February 19, 2012 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

I’ve tried four different times to write a “Poorganic Grocery Budget” for a month.  Many of you have asked what we usually buy, but it is too hard to generalize since every month is different.  I’ve decided that to just show you what food we ACTUALLY bought in the last 30 days, the good, the…Continue reading Poorganic Grocery Budget- One Actual Month

Make the Most

February 17, 2012 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Lately I’ve had something on my mind that I’ve finally gotten the gumption up to write about.  Well, truthfully, what I should say is that after I told God, “No way am I going to write that post no matter how much you nag me about it,” he said, “I’ve got a big fish…Continue reading Make the Most

Delight- Five Minute Friday

February 17, 2012 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

My brilliant sister, Laura, is helping with my writer’s block and pitching in this link up for the Gypsy Mama’s Five Minute Friday. . . Delight This instantly made me think of the new Hershey’s product, Hershey’s Delights. The first time I saw this product, my reaction was – What?  Really?  Now they are adding…Continue reading Delight- Five Minute Friday

The Laziest Blogger Ever

February 15, 2012 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Sometimes, I am the laziest blogger ever. I cannot be inspired to blog about anything. When that happens, I dig through my archives for another post about when I was the laziest blogger ever. And then I repost that  . . . . Here’s one from last February. *************************************************** Once upon a time, there was…Continue reading The Laziest Blogger Ever

Poorganic Menu Planning

February 11, 2012 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

This is the MAIN post that everyone has been begging me for. This is also the MAIN post that I’ve put off writing because I am probably NOT going to say what you want to hear. There is no menu. What I mean is, there is no one menu that is the cheapest menu, that…Continue reading Poorganic Menu Planning

I Verse & a Stack

February 8, 2012 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

FINALLY, it’s time for I verse!!! (If you are new here and have NO idea what “I Verse” means, go read this blurb about Letter Verses and then come back.) I KNOW! I know. I Verse is months and months overdue. You probably learned the Hate Verse in record time and have been sitting…Continue reading I Verse & a Stack

Six months of Eating Poorganically

February 6, 2012 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

We’ve been Eating Poorganically for six months now, so I thought maybe I would give you a little update on how our lives have and haven’t changed since we started eating differently.  In the spirit of honesty, I am going to tell both the “pros” and “cons.” (Number 10 is my favorite. :)) 1. Our…Continue reading Six months of Eating Poorganically

Unusual Passions

February 3, 2012 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

When I first started blogging, a teenaged blogger from my church, Alisha Newton, was gracious enough to show me the ropes with using WordPress.  She has continued to be a faithful reader and encourager of The Poorganic Life. I recently got a letter from her about her involvement with the 30 Hour Famine, and I…Continue reading Unusual Passions

About me

Hi! I'm Katrina. I'm married to an elementary school music teacher and am mom to three busy teenagers. Although I dream of being a writer, I keep busy substitute teaching, directing Shakespeare plays, teaching homeschool classes and working seasonally at a local u-pick farm. These days my blog is mostly a venue for information about my homeschool classes, but the archives contain my old posts about faith, finances, food, and family. I also have archives of The Poorganic Life food blog and You Go Girl! studies. I love Jesus, my family, libraries, audiobooks, Harry Potter, talking about the Enneagram, gardening, Hamilton, and eating crusty bread.

Where’s the one about . . .?
