Eating Poorganically: Starting Thoughts

August 4, 2011 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

Against my better judgment and the advice of some of you, I have resolved to carry out a little experiment to see if our family of five can eat organically and not hate it.  I have already begun some research into the matter and have drawn some of my inspiration from a blog written by…Continue reading Eating Poorganically: Starting Thoughts

Eating Poorganically

August 3, 2011 Katrina RyderNutty

Eating Poorganically: Belief and Skepticism   As you may know from having read my post on False Guilt, I am not a regular eater of organic foods.  That is to say, I don’t go to any lengths to buy organically.  I do have a garden and shop the Farmer’s market, but that is about…Continue reading Eating Poorganically

Baby’s not a Baby Anymore

August 1, 2011February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderSweet

We are still in the mountains and sans regular internet, so I am at sprayground area in Cherokee using the wi-fi from a coffee shop.  Since I don’t have much time to write a long tearful narrative for Baby’s second birthday, I am linking you up to Baby’s birthday post from last year when she…Continue reading Baby’s not a Baby Anymore

Lessons from PNG rerun

July 26, 2011 Katrina RyderSweet

I’ve decided that I’m going to do a post about what I miss about life as a missionary, but just to get you all up to speed (for those of you who didn’t know about that shadowy part of my past), here’s a slightly updated rerun of a post from last August about some of…Continue reading Lessons from PNG rerun

Goin’ to the Mountains!

July 25, 2011 Katrina RyderNutty

Hey Folks, We’re more than halfway through our 75 days of summer vacation and at least halfway through our Ryder “summer money.”  I have to say, NOT reporting weekly on our expenditures like I did last summer, has been a huge relief.  It’s not that we are doing much differently, but it is just nice…Continue reading Goin’ to the Mountains!

I am a Dipwad

July 23, 2011 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

After the lovely post my sister did early this week making me sound WAY more awesome than I really am, I thought we should all come back to reality. (Thanks L, by the way. You know that Sheryl Crow song where she sings “Are you strong enough to be my man?” and then later on…Continue reading I am a Dipwad

Don’t Even Complain

July 18, 2011 Katrina RyderNutty

I’m going to tell you right away that this isn’t the Cousins post. And it isn’t the extremely humiliating post I am mentally writing called “I am a Dipwad.” Those will have to be written another time when I don’t need to turn in early. Because, dear readers, tomorrow, my hot husband is taking me…Continue reading Don’t Even Complain

The Mission of Moms

July 17, 2011 Katrina RyderNutty

I am constantly reading blogposts that I want to share, but all the while, I am thinking that I don’t want to linking you to someone else’s blog for fear that you will like it more than mine.  This is selfish; I know. But it is true. Yet, when a blog post manages to say…Continue reading The Mission of Moms

Change Addiction

July 16, 2011February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Warning: The following is one of my all too infrequent soapbox vent moments.  This one is about church.  So, if you are up for that sort of thing, read on. If reading someone else’s annoying brilliant declarations makes you squirm (as it often does to me, a non-lover of other people’s opinions), I invite you…Continue reading Change Addiction

Hi Friends, This will be a quick one. I have a new coupon/ money earning site to tell you about. It is called Recycle Bank. It is very easy to use and you can earn points that you redeem for coupons. (For example, I have been redeeming mine for Harris Teeter $10 off $50 purchase…Continue reading Recycle Bank

About me

Hi! I'm Katrina. I'm married to an elementary school music teacher and am mom to three busy teenagers. Although I dream of being a writer, I keep busy substitute teaching, directing Shakespeare plays, teaching homeschool classes and working seasonally at a local u-pick farm. These days my blog is mostly a venue for information about my homeschool classes, but the archives contain my old posts about faith, finances, food, and family. I also have archives of The Poorganic Life food blog and You Go Girl! studies. I love Jesus, my family, libraries, audiobooks, Harry Potter, talking about the Enneagram, gardening, Hamilton, and eating crusty bread.

Where’s the one about . . .?
