Menu Plan Makeover

September 26, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

This week was a fog of planning for my big budgeting talk for the women’s group at my church, but now I am back.   With the onset of fall and payday just behind me, I have inspiration to turn over a new leaf. Pun intended. It is no secret that my past menu plans on…Continue reading Menu Plan Makeover

I love Manna

September 19, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

I’m linking this post up to Saturday Success Stories at My Coupon Teacher. This is a different kind of success story, but really, I think it is better than the best coupon trip. I have not posted much in the “Soul Food” category because, to be honest, I think my soul has been a bit…Continue reading I love Manna

Friday Rerun: Cheapness Philosophy

September 17, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

Our super cute house two years ago. Since hopefully I have gained a few readers since I began this blog in May, I am reposting an article that outlines some of the basic lifestyles that under gird our cheapness. I thought I would lay the background for our cheapness just for any who might be…Continue reading Friday Rerun: Cheapness Philosophy

Couponing in SLOW MOTION Buying to Earn Money

September 15, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

As a couponer, I am often asked if I end up buying stuff that I do not need. The answer is often, Yes.  Because you can make money buying stuff. And then if you don’t want the stuff, you can give it away. But you still made money for the food you do need. I…Continue reading Couponing in SLOW MOTION Buying to Earn Money

My Cheap Trick: Swimmy Diapers

September 13, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

This idea is courtesy of my friend Melissa.  THANKS SO MUCH sharing your cheap trick. “My cheap trick involves the “Little Swimmers” swim diapers. I really need to give credit to my husband as this is really his idea.  🙂 We have a pool which means we are in it about everyday in the summertime.…Continue reading My Cheap Trick: Swimmy Diapers

What is Your Problem?

September 12, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

So I’ve been asked to speak on “living within a budget” for a women’s event that my church is hosting on Sept 23rd. It is going to be part of a series about living your faith intentionally. (Contact me if you want to come.) I AM SUPER excited because, as a former teacher, I LOVE…Continue reading What is Your Problem?

Welcome Back Me and You

September 12, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

There could be a long post explaining where I have been and why I haven’t been blogging, but I will summarize. 1. My blog was broken until a week ago. Well, just broken in the sense that I, an imbecile of technology, could not operate it. 2. After my blog was fixed, my daughter got…Continue reading Welcome Back Me and You

My Cheap Trick

August 30, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

Do you feel like you are fighting a constant “STUFF-WAR”? No matter how much you want to simplify, do you feel like the clutter of life is crowding around you? Does  the daily task of “picking up” constitute your entire exercise routine? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this list is for…Continue reading Ten Easy Anti-Clutter Tactics

I love ALDI

August 26, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

Sing to the tune of the Cheers theme.  You have to be a pretty die-hard couponer to understand this song, but this was my experience yesterday stocking up after a summer of depleting the pantry. Getting a deal at the grocery store takes everything you’ve got Taking a break from couponing sure would help a…Continue reading I love ALDI

About me

Hi! I'm Katrina. I'm married to an elementary school music teacher and am mom to three busy teenagers. Although I dream of being a writer, I keep busy substitute teaching, directing Shakespeare plays, teaching homeschool classes and working seasonally at a local u-pick farm. These days my blog is mostly a venue for information about my homeschool classes, but the archives contain my old posts about faith, finances, food, and family. I also have archives of The Poorganic Life food blog and You Go Girl! studies. I love Jesus, my family, libraries, audiobooks, Harry Potter, talking about the Enneagram, gardening, Hamilton, and eating crusty bread.

Where’s the one about . . .?
