Authentic Faith and Abundant Life

Contentment Story

March 21, 2011 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about contentment or the lack thereof.  It seems that our culture craves contentment, but gives way to discontent pretty quickly.  I, myself, recently dealt with this struggle.  Here’s the story. Day 1: The News J comes home and tells me that it is pretty likely his National Board Certification…Continue reading Contentment Story

February Save to Give Challenge Update

March 2, 2011 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Well, this challenge is difficult. I’m not going to lie. We are two months in and so far, I regret doing this. I know that is my worldliness talking, but it’s the truth. I will be quick in my summary. Last month we spent $382.55 on consumables. For better or worse, we saved $618.34.  I…Continue reading February Save to Give Challenge Update

January Save to Give Update and Idea

February 4, 2011February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

My Budget Resolution Workshop has kept me busy this past month, hence I haven’t blogged much. I did want to give you an update on the Save to Give Challenge for the month of January. (Check out the Save to Give Challenge if you have no clue what I’m talking about.) My monthly budget for…Continue reading January Save to Give Update and Idea

Save to Give Challenge

January 5, 2011February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

In the land of resolutions, I did not meet one of my goals for last year. Well, one is too small a number. I should say, there is one particular goal that I did not meet, which I’m going to tell you about. Last year I started using an excel spreadsheet, courtesy of Jenny at…Continue reading Save to Give Challenge

The Low Ryder Resolution Group

November 23, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

This fall, I’ve been wearing a lot of hats, one of which has not been my blogging hat. (I know–I’m really stretching it to be able to use these photos of our pumpkins before and after their makeover courtesy of Addie.) (Which begs the question, what does a blogging hat look like? I’m hoping like…Continue reading The Low Ryder Resolution Group

I love Manna

September 19, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

I’m linking this post up to Saturday Success Stories at My Coupon Teacher. This is a different kind of success story, but really, I think it is better than the best coupon trip. I have not posted much in the “Soul Food” category because, to be honest, I think my soul has been a bit…Continue reading I love Manna

Oh Deer

August 22, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

I’ll make this quick. If I can. For those burning with curiosity about my garden and its progress, here is some info. After the scalping, I placed the tomatoes on little rolling carts that J’s school was ditching. Every night, I tucked them into the garage so they couldn’t be munched by vicious deer. When…Continue reading Oh Deer

A Love Letter

August 8, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Dear Baby, I think about writing this to you all the time. Every time I smell your silky chocolate brown hair or hold your pudgy fist, I think of it.  As I watch you nursing, I often think, “I will never forget how you look in this exact moment.”  But somehow, I do. I remember…Continue reading A Love Letter

Savings, Crow, a Foot and hopefully Chocolate Chip Cookies

July 5, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

This is my mom. She is the smartest woman on the planet. The slightly hysterical look she has in this photo is because I am goosing her to provoke the correct timing on the smile since our camera has about a minute and a half delay. She is also the best baker EVER. Her chocolate…Continue reading Savings, Crow, a Foot and hopefully Chocolate Chip Cookies

No Saving for a Rainy Day

June 25, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

I am including this lovely picture of the beach to sweeten up the fact that this post may be hugely unpopular.  So look at the photo when you start feeling lots of ire. Okay, so I have mentioned in a few previous posts that J and I don’t really save money. Many of you have…Continue reading No Saving for a Rainy Day

About me

Hi! I'm Katrina. I'm married to an elementary school music teacher and am mom to three busy teenagers. Although I dream of being a writer, I keep busy substitute teaching, directing Shakespeare plays, teaching homeschool classes and working seasonally at a local u-pick farm. These days my blog is mostly a venue for information about my homeschool classes, but the archives contain my old posts about faith, finances, food, and family. I also have archives of The Poorganic Life food blog and You Go Girl! studies. I love Jesus, my family, libraries, audiobooks, Harry Potter, talking about the Enneagram, gardening, Hamilton, and eating crusty bread.

Where’s the one about . . .?
