11 down. 2 to go.

August 8, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

The Low Down on this week is that I realized I have been remiss in reporting my spending. This is because I have gotten a little lax.  But I do keep receipts for all grocery, household, and pharmacy purchases and keep track of them on a spreadsheet, so I finally caught up tonight and filled…Continue reading 11 down. 2 to go.

A Love Letter

August 8, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

Dear Baby, I think about writing this to you all the time. Every time I smell your silky chocolate brown hair or hold your pudgy fist, I think of it.  As I watch you nursing, I often think, “I will never forget how you look in this exact moment.”  But somehow, I do. I remember…Continue reading A Love Letter

The Blogdom of the Low Ryder

August 7, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

So as the “13 weeks” draws to a close (thank goodness), I am faced with the dilemma of whether or not I will continue blogging, and if so, about what. During this summer of blogging, I have learned a few important things about myself and this process. 1. I love writing and blogging even though…Continue reading The Blogdom of the Low Ryder

How is it going?

August 3, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

So there’s only three more weeks left in the 13 Weeks of Summer.  3 weeks. 3 weeks. 3 weeks. It is the dog days of summer and the longest possible three weeks that could exist. I think I’m starting to feel like Anika in her life vest, bound to safety and not exactly enjoying it…Continue reading How is it going?

132 Dollar Vacation

August 2, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

So we did it. We managed to go on vacation and stay in budget.  Here’s the breakdown and a gallery of pictures from our trip.  Last night I spent a bazillion years typing all this witty narrative to go with the pictures and then it vanished into thin air, so forget it.   As…Continue reading 132 Dollar Vacation

Rules for Hiking

July 26, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderNutty

We are on vacation. Pictures will follow when we are back in faster internet world. It has nothing to do with this post whatsoever, but just as an update, we have only spent$97 on this entire vacation so far.  I am pretty sure that we are going to make it in budget. HOORAH! All of…Continue reading Rules for Hiking

The Greater Good

July 20, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderNutty

I’ve been meaning to put this post up for some time, but life has gotten in the way.  Our main computer situation is still tenuous and I don’t have normal access to all the pictures I want.  Did I mention how terrible it will be if we lose all our pictures?  All my gazillions of…Continue reading The Greater Good

No more cushion

July 18, 2010 Katrina RyderNutty

So this isn’t exactly an subtraction and numbers update in the sense that the Sunday night posts have been because I had to revamp the whole durn thing today.  We are pretty much down to the wire and are supposed to go on vacation on Friday.  The long and the short of it is this.…Continue reading No more cushion

The truth about couponing

July 14, 2010 Katrina RyderSweet

I probably do not need to provide any explanation of the title because once you have seen the picture, you know.  This was taken on the night of July 3rd while fireworks were exploding outside and we were inside, patriotically watching the John Adams movie. How lame is my life. I did not add a…Continue reading The truth about couponing

Menu Planning A- HA- HA

July 13, 2010February 17, 2013 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

As promised, here is the revised menu showing what we did not (crossed out) and what we actually have eaten.   You can see clearly that the categories went straight out the window as we basically ate whatever we wanted and usually pork on vegetarian night-HA! SUN. MON. TUES. WED. THURSDAY FRI. SAT. SILLY SUPPER PORK/…Continue reading Menu Planning A- HA- HA

About me

Hi! I'm Katrina. I'm married to an elementary school music teacher and am mom to three busy teenagers. Although I dream of being a writer, I keep busy substitute teaching, directing Shakespeare plays, teaching homeschool classes and working seasonally at a local u-pick farm. These days my blog is mostly a venue for information about my homeschool classes, but the archives contain my old posts about faith, finances, food, and family. I also have archives of The Poorganic Life food blog and You Go Girl! studies. I love Jesus, my family, libraries, audiobooks, Harry Potter, talking about the Enneagram, gardening, Hamilton, and eating crusty bread.

Where’s the one about . . .?
