Week 3 Update: The Pepper Pickle

June 13, 2010 Katrina RyderSweet

So I guess we all knew that the time would come when I would be over budget. I was just hoping that it wouldn’t be Week 3. There was a FIASCO this week from which I have still not recovered . Here’s the story.  Skip to the bottom if you just want the numbers. Saturday…Continue reading Week 3 Update: The Pepper Pickle

Raskols, Ninjas, Elmo, and the Metaphysical Conceit

June 13, 2010March 14, 2015 Katrina RyderLiving Poorganically

(Scene: ALL–I repeat–ALL of my family is asleep and I am on our screened in porch with an ice tea enjoying the 91 degrees and 60 percent humidity. Yes, I love heat. No, I am not delusional from it. They are really and truly ALL asleep . . . shhhhh.) (To those of you who…Continue reading Raskols, Ninjas, Elmo, and the Metaphysical Conceit

McTeague and What Not to Do: Marriage Series Part I

June 8, 2010 Katrina RyderSweet

One of the main challenge with family cheapness is keeping the marriage together and everybody on the same page. And I would be lying if I didn’t admit that Jeremy and I have definitely had some ups and downs about my cheapness.  With this in mind, I have decided to do a series of posts…Continue reading McTeague and What Not to Do: Marriage Series Part I

Big Beef and the Move

June 7, 2010 Katrina RyderFull of Fruit

This year I am trying to be a gardener. I have to tell you, it is not going well. It is really hard work.  To start with, we basically have a wooded lot, so I am fighting nature, literally.  We don’t have many areas that are sunny and those that we do have are basically,…Continue reading Big Beef and the Move

About me

Hi! I'm Katrina. I'm married to an elementary school music teacher and am mom to three busy teenagers. Although I dream of being a writer, I keep busy substitute teaching, directing Shakespeare plays, teaching homeschool classes and working seasonally at a local u-pick farm. These days my blog is mostly a venue for information about my homeschool classes, but the archives contain my old posts about faith, finances, food, and family. I also have archives of The Poorganic Life food blog and You Go Girl! studies. I love Jesus, my family, libraries, audiobooks, Harry Potter, talking about the Enneagram, gardening, Hamilton, and eating crusty bread.

Where’s the one about . . .?
