An Easy Decision

I have to be honest. I hate shopping.  So the impending onset of the Christmas season has been known to turn me into a bit of a Scrooge.

The problem is that I am HORRIBLY indecisive. So when you add in traffic, crowds, bags, piles of unfolded clothes, and ME . . . well, it isn’t pretty.

I cannot tell you how DE-Lighted I am to share with you the wonderful, news I have.  I have found a mall where you can go, shop, and on the way out, they look in your bag and hand you a check for a percentage of whatever you purchased.

Plus, you can shop in your jammies.

And you never have to leave home.

The mall is called Ebates and inside this “mall” are stores like Kohls, Sears, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, Lands End, Lowes, Verizon, Staples, Disney Store, and on and on. Each one of these stores offers varying percentages of cash back for purchases made through Ebates. Also, you can access ALL of the store’s online discount codes and add that ON TOP OF the cash back.  Once a quarter, you get a check in cold, hard, cash for a percentage of whatever you buy.

It ROCKS.

Plus, on Black Friday (this Friday) and Cyber Monday (next Monday) a lot of the stores are offering DOUBLE CASH BACK when you shop through Ebates.  So, while many sad and weary ladies are waking up when it is still dark to schlep around the shops vying for deals (which are really just loss leaders intended to suck them into some other useless purchase) I will be Ebatesing it.

In anticipation of Cyber Monday, I am going to fill my online shopping carts on Saturday and Sunday (while in my jammies and sipping egg nog, mind you). Then, just as I did last year, I will click through on Monday and make my purchases, receiving between 5-18% cash back.  Then all my items will arrive in the mail,

AS will my loverly Ebates check.

It’s a Christmas miracle. Okay, well that’s an exaggeration, but it is pretty awesome.

Well, you say, I love Christmas shopping and all the hustle and bustle.

To that, I cock one eyebrow and say, Do you? DO YOU? OR Do you love going out with gal pals, ordering a peppermint latte, and smugly reporting that you’ve already finished your shopping, so now you’re just there to look cute in your new scarf, saying, “That’s precious” when your friends show you something they bought.

That’s what I thought.  If you, like me, want to be scarf-latte girl, just click the link below, join Ebates and start filling your carts. You won’t regret it.

I will tell you straight off, that I would LOVE if you would join Ebates because I will get $5 for each person I refer (through the above link) who makes a purchase.  Since my entirely annual salary from blogging is the $86 or so dollars that I make off Ebates, it would be awesome if you join through my link.

It’s an easy decision! Also, you get $5 in your account just for signing up!

If you have questions, let me know or check out the FAQ on the site.

One little thing I should point out is that Ebates is not a warehouse like Amazon, so you will have to click through Ebates to “enter” the individual stores; HOWEVER, you will get much better prices because of the cash back and access to the coupon codes. While the warehouse aspect of Amazon is nice, I don’t usually think the prices for the lower end items that I buy are really worth it.

One other little thing, because they have Walmart, you can do all your Walmarting online and then select “Site to Store” and pick it up without ever having to wade through the soul-less purgatory that is Walmart. (Just in case that is an issue for you like it is for some other quirky people that I know. ahem.)

Does anyone else want to share a great Ebates experience?

  1. Ebates is amazing. I can’t get over how it is actually cheaper for me to sit at home and buy things than to actually head to the mall. I almost bought a pair of jeans last week at a certain store….then remembered I could save an extra 4 dollars by going home and ordering them online!

  2. Okay that went really fast and it didn’t give me a chance to refer back to you but since I clicked through your blog I’m hoping you get the reimbursement!!!
